SARCOXIE PUBLIC LIBRARY

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do I contact if I have a question for the Library?

Any of our associates are a great first step in getting answers to your questions. If you can't make it in to the Library at the time, simply call us at (417) 548-2736 or send us an email via library@sarcoxiemo.gov.

How do I get a Library membership?

The Sarcoxie Public Library now offers memberships (similar to the previous library card). To apply for a membership, you will need to speak to one of our friendly associates and provide the following: Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and Proof of Address. Library cards are FREE for Sarcoxie citizens. For non-residents, there is a small fee.

Can I leave my child on site while I go run errands?

While we encourage our young folks to visit us, we would like to remind parents that we are not a daycare service. Young patrons under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian while at the Red Front.

Are there any resources for the youth?

From books to computers to a safe environment in the evenings, the Red Front offers a variety of resources for the youth. With our business hours open in the evenings, we encourage our local and surrounding youth to gather for study groups or just to hang out in a safe environment. The Red Front also has a Children's Room (decorated as a fire station) which has a focus towards ages 5-12 years. Stay tuned to our announcements for information on upcoming programs available for our youth.

What can the V.E. "Wildcat" Lynch Meeting Room be used for?

Intended use is for small meetings, education study, and professional use. Age requirements do apply – individuals must be age 16 years and up to use this room, unless otherwise supervised by a person that is 18 years of age or approved by the Red Front Manager. Though the room is fairly sized, the maximum capacity is 6 persons.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

YES! The Sarcoxie Public Library offers wi-fi to our patrons to utilize our E-books, audio books, and other general use. You can connect to our wi-fi ("Sarcoxie Red Front") by asking one of our associates for the password and then accepting our Internet Usage policy, which will load on your device after connecting.

Can I take my food and drink anywhere in the building?

While we now have a much larger area for patrons to feel comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere, we do ask that food and drinks stay in the commons area.

How do I renew a book/DVD/audiobook/musical CD?

Books can be renewed by speaking to an associate. If you can't make it in to the Library at the time, simply call us at (417) 548-2736 or send us an email via library@sarcoxiemo.gov.

Does the library have a fax machine for public use?

Fax service is available at the Sarcoxie License Office as well as the Sarcoxie Record. The Record is located on the SW corner of the Square at 101 N 6th Street and can also be contacted by phone at (417) 548-3311.
